Novak Djokovic prepares for Wimbledon and receives a custom-made watch on the way.

2014 has been kind to Novak Djokovic so far. He has won three ATP Tour titles, in Indian Wells, Miami and Rome and he came closer than ever to his first ever French Open title.  As he prepares for Wimbledon, he has every reason to be confident. He has won there before, in 2011, and was a finalist last year.  Could 2014 be his year to win Wimbledon once again?

As his watch partner, Seiko ardently wishes that we could help him win Wimbledon and every other tournament, but we cannot. What we can do, however, is to help him manage his time in every other aspect of his life and, since our appointment as his watch partner at the start of 2014, we have created watches that are perfectly suited to his needs as he trains, relaxes and travels.

Novak has a hectic travel schedule. We estimate that, to fulfil his tennis commitments alone, Novak travels so much that he would have to adjust the time zone on his watch no fewer than 60 times this year. With Seiko Astron on his wrist, however, he does not have to worry once. Just a touch of a button and Novak’s Astron adjusts to the local time, no matter where he is in the world.

So, when Seiko and Novak discussed what he would really like as the most special watch in his wardrobe, it was Astron that was his choice and, today, at the Boodles tournament at the prestigious Stoke Park Country Club near London, we are proud to unveil the watch we have custom made for Novak.  It is an Astron GPS Solar watch, of course, but it has a chronograph function and carries Novak’s signature on the case back. It is to be offered to the public as a limited edition of 2,500 in the Autumn.

We wish Novak every success and good fortune, on and off the court, for the remainder of the 2014 season.  It’s already a special year and it’s going to get better still.
